It will, however, boost your reputation and prove how credible you are in your field and the next time you approach a school, you can use the first talk you’ve given as leverage.

The times we are in right now are made for networking, and the world has gotten smaller too. If you are truly and deathly afraid to meet people face to face, then adapt and meet them online. You also cannot tell me there is nothing for you because I know that is not true, unless it is your business that is not suitable for this. If you have the slightest interest to network, then that is all you need and you can take care of the rest. If you open your mind and look for opportunity, then you will find they are always there.
